Meetings and Functions

A natural choice for your next function ...

Capacity

The Center is available with a capacity of 90 for reception or auditorium style functions, and 64 for banquet style functions. The Center's lawns and gardens may also be rented. Plenty of parking is available.

Catering

The South Shore Natural Science Center does not provide catering services but will accommodate a caterer of your choice. We will be happy to share a list of local caterers noted for their fine food and quality service. Alcohol may be served on the premises provided the host assumes liability.

Equipment

A small caterer's kitchen is adjacent to Vine Hall. Kitchen appliances are available for your use.

The center may provide:
Tables and chairs
Podium
Large projection screen
TV and VCR/DVD player
Slide projector
Overhead projector

And also available for an additional cost:
Two large gas grills
Volleyball equipment

The Center will provide a listing of party rental/tent organizations upon request.

Other Services

For an additional fee, Center naturalists are available to provide programs, etc...

Rates:

Social Events (Parties & Showers)

$50 per hour during the day

$75 per hour after hours*

Weddings

$60 per hour during the day

$75 per hour after hours*

Meetings

$40 per hour during the day

$65 per hour after hours*

*Business Hours are 9:30am to 4:30pm Mon-Sat

	Discounted rates for members and non-profit organizations available upon request.
	Sunday rental fees are based upon "After Hours" rates.
	All rates include set-up by SSNSC staff.

Deposits

	A $50.00 deposit ($150 for weddings) is due upon reservation. The balance of payment is due two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled event.
	Deposits will be forfeited if cancellation occurs within two (2) weeks of the event.
	A separate $100 security deposit is required with the balance of payment. The security deposit check will be returned unless damage has occurred.

SSNSC is a smoke-free facility.

Note: As a private organization, the South Shore Natural Science Center reserves the right to refuse to make its grounds or facilities available for functions that conflict with its mission or services.
