"Through the Garden Gate"
It's a delightful way to spend a summer's day-touring some of the South Shore's most beautiful gardens! Tickets make great Mother's Day gifts! |
A small frozen pond deep in the woods thaws in
early spring and suddenly is alive with the sounds
of quacking – but no ducks are visible.
Welcome to a vernal pool! Join us to learn about
these fragile wetlands that serve as important
breeding areas to native salamanders, frogs
and fairy shrimp. After a short slide show and
a close look at SSNSC amphibians, we’ll hike
out to our vernal pools to search for the
residents there.
