"Hedda - A Retrospective Show"
April 8 - May 17
Hedda was a gifted and noted artist and this show is a
tribute to her many talents. She painted in varied mediums and her subjects
were many including our Jacobs Farm area. Also on display are some painting
never seen before. Family members continue their artistic journey with their
talents, too. Also on display are photographs by her son, Andrew Zona, and
wood pieces by nephew, Richard Friberg. Join us for an opening
reception, Friday, April 11 from 7:00-9:00pm.
Most of the works on display in Vine Hall are for sale
with a portion of that supporting the Science Center. There is no
admission to the Vine Hall Gallery and it is open during the Science Center's
regular hours unless otherwise noted.

Nature Center Preschool Art Show
May 20 - June 2
This show features the artwork made by the children from
the Nature Center Preschool classes. They have studied artists Paul Cezanne,
Jackson Pollack, and author Peter H. Reynolds as well as others. Easel
painting without any teacher direction is also featured. All art emphasizes
the process of making art and their works convey their individual artistic
expressions. Join us at an opening reception on Wednesday, May 21 from
6:00-7:30pm.
Norwell Elementary Schools Art Show
June 3 - 16
This exhibit features a sampling of works from the art
classes of Mrs. McNulty and Mr. Menice at the Cole and Vinal Schools. Art is
fun and both teachers develop the creativity and artistic expression in the
students. View the talent of these students from Grades 1-5. Join us and
meet the students and teachers at an opening reception, date to be
finalized.

Call for Entries: 4th Annual Juried Art
Show
The South Shore Natural Science Center is pleased to announce their 4th
Annual Juried Art show and all artists are invited to participate. The theme
is “Beyond the Garden Gate” and all entries must contain an image,
representation, or interpretation of a garden theme. Artists may submit
two-dimensional framed art work in the following media: oil, watercolor,
pencil, charcoal, acrylic and or pastel. A non-refundable entry fee of $5
per piece for Science Center members ($10 for non-members) will be charged.
All works must be original, completed within the last 3 years, and not
previously exhibited in a Vine Hall Gallery Show. Fernwood Gallery of
Norwell has generously donated the prizes of gift certificates for framing
in denominations of 1st prize $100, 2nd prize $50, and 3rd prize $25 gift
certificate.

ECOZONE
Our multidimensional, interactive
exhibit area that focuses on the ecosystems of southeastern Massachusetts.
The main habitats which comprise the EcoZone are wetlands, woodlands and
meadows.

Coes Greenhouse
The Greenhouse is located next to the EcoZone and is open
to the public during our regular hours. Check out a variety of local
and exotic plants that are there year round.
