12:00-4:00pm

Earn a Free Raffle Ticket for every paper grocery bag FULL of recyclable paper brought to the Science Center (no cardboard, phone books, or egg cartons).

Join us for a festival of earth-wise fun! Learn more about climate change and keeping our priceless earth healthy.  NOW is the time to "go green!" Enjoy the EcoZone, kids' crafts and games, musical entertainment, nature walks, live animals and food.  There's something for everyone!

Environmental exhibitors will demonstrate ways to a greener life through composting, recycling, organic gardening, solar and wind energy, biofuel, green kitchens, and bathrooms, cleaning products, and more.

Our featured entertainment will be provided by Marcia Wilson of Eyes On Owls as she presents "Who's Watching You? Owls of the World." Observe six live owls up close, learn how to attract and protect local owls, and have a hooting lesson - a fun and interactive program.

The 2008 Earth Day Celebration is supported in part by a grant from the Norwell Cultural Council and Business Sponsors, Coler and Colantonio, Inc, and Snow & Jones, Inc.

Do you want to do something good for the Earth?  You can help on Earth Day by:

þ  Carpool, ride your bike, or walk

þ  Bring your old ink/toner cartridges to recycle

þ  Bring a bag of paper recycling for our Abitibi Paper Retriever bin

þ  Bring your own reusable bag for all your goodies and crafts

þ  Coffee will be on sale for Earth Day; bring your own reusable travel mug

þ   Share brochures with your friends or family and then recycle them when you are done

þ  Pick up litter (trash and recycling containers will be available at the Science Center)

þ    If you drive reduce your speed (every 5mph over 60mph decreases fuel economy by 7-23%)

þ  Don't idle your car - it wastes fuel, pollutes the air, worsens breathing problems, and is illegal to idle your car for more than 5 minutes in MA
