Please see our Camp Brochure for details

The SSNSC Nature Adventures Summer Day Camp offers exciting opportunities for children to learn about the natural world.

Campers will ...

Develop an awareness, appreciation, and concern for our environment and the creatures in it.
Explore the habits and habitats of animals living in our woods, ponds, meadows, and along the shore.
Have fun, use their imaginations, and just be kids in a low stress, outdoor environment.
Learn about natural science through stories, hikes, games, crafts, and a host of other fun-filled activities.
Renew old friendships and make new pals.

THE PROGRAMS

We offer 1/2 day camps for our younger campers, ages 3 through Grade 2, and 1/2 or full day options for campers entering grades 3 through 6
.  See our camp brochure for more information.

Additionally, we are quite proud of our middle & early high school programs...

For middle school:
Explorers
Campers entering grades 6-8 are invited to join these sessions for hiking, canoeing, team-building, a field trip and an overnight camping trip!

For early high school: Expedition
Our oldest campers (entering grades 8 & 9) can look forward to our most involved programs.  The Expedition week begins with two days of nature studies, canoeing and team-building at the Science Center.  Then the Cape Cod Expedition portion brings them to Nickerson State Park Campground.  From this new 'home base' the group will bike to tide pools, saltwater marshes, and beaches.

Camperships

Help a child attend camp!

Each year we offer a limited amount of 'camperships' to families who could not otherwise attend camp.

We can only do this through your generosity.

To donate to the 'campership' fund or

to receive aid to attend camp please see our brochure.

Summer Camp Staff

Our Senior Counselors are college educated men and women who have experience working with children. Each has attended on-site training, has been certified in First Aid and Community CPR, and undergone a CORI & SORI check. All share a genuine enthusiasm for children and nature.

We maintain a ratio of one Counselor to every 5 campers under the age of seven, in accordance with MA state law.  For campers age seven and up, we exceed the state requirements (1:10) by maintaining a ration of 1 counselor for every 6 campers. Each group of campers is led by a Senior Counselor who is a college graduate or student, and a Junior Counselor who must be at least fifteen years old.

Registration Policy

You must hold a current family membership at the time of registration and during the selected camp session to get the member discount. You can renew or join at the time of registration. Registrations are accepted by mail, fax, and in person during regular business hours.

A child is not considered registered until you receive written confirmation from the camp office.

There is a non-refundable $75 registration fee for EACH session. The fee is included in the total cost of camp tuition.  Reserved spaces will not be held for campers with unpaid balances, expired memberships, or overdue forms. State law requires that campers submit a copy of a physical examination performed by a licensed physician, accompanied by a current immunization record. Campers' files must contain the registration form, signed copies of current health forms, releases, emergency information, and tuition in order to attend camp. If minimum registration is not met, two camper groups may be combined.

Cancellations and Refund Policy

Cancellations received in writing at least two weeks prior to a session will receive a refund for tuition paid, minus the $75 registration fee. A full program credit (less fees) valid for one year from the date of issue will be given for cancellations received between 2 weeks and 72 hours before the start of the session. Registrants who do not give advance notice of cancellations within the aforementioned guidelines will forfeit all monies paid. There are no rebates for incomplete attendance.
