Birthday Parties

It's Party Time at the Science Center!

Our children's birthday parties are science and nature oriented, creative and down-to-earth fun! Parties can include outdoor hikes, games and activities, science experiments, live animals, the EcoZone, and the greenhouse.  Most party themes are held year round.  A great party for girls and boys ages 3 and up.

Parents are heard to say, "The kids had so much fun they didn't even notice they were learning something."

 

Birthday Party Themes

Age 3

Ages 4 and up

Peter Rabbit
Join Peter on a visit to Mr. McGregor's garden. Meet our bunny and see if we can find rabbits outside.

 Woodland
Explore, look, touch and listen for animals and plants that make their homes in the forest.		 Young Explorers
Grab your map, look for clues and find your way along our trails.

**Please note: this theme involves some reading and is weather dependent.
Frogs & Toads
Jump, Frog, Jump!  You need to escape from your enemies!  Meet a live frog and toad and discover what makes them special.		 Reptiles & Amphibians
Crawl, slither or hop over to meet our scaly reptiles and slimy amphibians.		 Magic of Science
Is it magic or is it science? Test your powers of perception and try out some fun experiments!
Owl Babies
Where has Mother Owl gone, the owl babies want to know? Discover what owls do at night and learn how they ‘talk‘ to each other.		 Dinosaurs
Go back in time and explore the world of giant creatures. How were they like animals we see today?

Whooo is wishing you a happy birthday? Meet a live Barred Owl and learn more about these creatures of the night.		  

Parties for 3 year olds are 1.5 hours long. For the first half hour, our staff provides the fun by leading a program on the theme of your choosing. Then you have the use of the birthday party room to complete the craft we provide and host the rest of the festivities. You provide your own food and paper products, but we provide the SSNSC souvenir goody cups!

For ages 4 and up, each party is 2 hours long. For the first hour, our staff provides the hands-on fun and adventure by leading a program on the theme of your choosing. Then you have the use of the birthday party room to host the rest of the festivities. You provide your own food and paper products, but we provide the SSNSC souvenir goody cups!

Our party table dimensions are 82 inches x 60 inches.

Saturdays: 10:30am & 1:30pm

 

Party Prices                                                                                              

Prices are the same for both types of party as the shorter party includes a craft.
Includes goody cups.

Members: $12 per child, $120 minimum
Non-members: $14 per child, $140 minimum

Looking for a great birthday gift or additional items for the goody cups?

The Science Center's nature store has toys, t-shirts, cards, and other gift options for all ages. The Sponsor-a-Critter program or sponsoring an exhibit in the EcoZone are other great ways to celebrate a special day.  Please contact the Science Center for more information.

Please help support our mission and keep decorations ecological:
Avoid Styrofoam, choose Mylar instead of latex balloons, and consider reusable cups instead of juice boxes.  Feel free to contact us for more ideas.
